Teach in the D.C. Area? Help a Class from West Virginia

Just got word on one of my social networks, MACUL Space to be exact, that an educator from West Virginia is looking to do some online correspondence/collaboration with a classroom in the D.C. area. Apparently, Kim Mutterback is helping out a group of 5th grade students that will be traveling to the capitol this Spring. She’s looking for a class to colloborate with using Skype, wikis, or any other medium you feel comfortable with.

I told her I’d give a shout out on my blog, since I’ve been told a few people read it from time to time 🙂 It sounds like a great opportunity for a couple of elementary classrooms to show themselves and their area off to the rest of the world.

  1. I’ve got connections with the Virginia and Maryland ISTE affiliates, so let me know if you’d like me to make some connections for you. I’m sure they would be happy to get this query out to their members.

  2. Hi Ben, There are quite a few good tools out there to help you / Kim in exactly this situation of doing a collaborative learning from different locations before meeting them in D.C. I have been using one for such purposes, feel free to check out this online interactive and collaborative learning platform with plenty of existing materials created by some expert profs. Thanks!
