Yes, yes, I know, the blog has been dormant since school let out. It’s a nasty habit of mine to enter a complete communication blackout for a few days after the school year ends, and then it’s difficult to get back into the swing of things.
Thankfully, after a conversation this morning with the executive director of MACUL, I’m really excited to be tele-presenting this Saturday at NECC08 as a part of the day-long pre-NECC ISTE Affiliates meeting. From roughly 1:30 until 2:30 central time, MACUL will have center stage during the affiliates meeting, and several of the leadership wanted to show off how we’ve been using Ning to network with our members, carry on conversations outside of the conference, and share resources throughout the year. Since I’m the defacto Ning-guru in our little PLC of MACUL leadership, I’ve been asked to Skype in during the meeting and show off how we’re using Ning’s tools to do all of the wonderful outreach efforts that I mentioned previously.
Which means, if you’re going to be in San Antonio this coming week for NECC08 (highly likely), and you’ll be in attendance for the ISTE Affiliates meeting (highly unlikely due to the $100 cost of attendance for the day-long meeting), you may very well be treated to my over-excited mumbling as I guide a room full of people I woon’t be able to see through our Ning site. Can’t wait!
