Animalia for iPhone & iPod Touch Free This Weekend – Video Preview

Nov 13, 2010 by

Animalia is a famous alliterative alphabet book published in the late 80s, and is fond in the hearts of many in my generation. The hours I spent in front of this “hunt and find” style book are too numerous to recount, but suffice it to say it’s “Where’s Waldo” like illustrations are beautiful collages that capture the imagination of early elementary aged students, and will keep you busy trying to find alphabet themed images on each page. StoryKit for iPod Touch – Video Preview

May 6, 2010 by

I got really really excited about an application I recently downloaded for the iPod Touch, and wanted to share a short preview, nothing too fancy. I’ve been coordinating my buildings efforts to pilot some iPod Touches, leading up to an eventual full classroom trial this fall, but in the meantime, we’re figuring out where these little devices might be useful in the classroom. This week’s video happens to focus on the word “family”, so Murray (which I believe is a fairly new Muppet) does a little “Word on the Street” thing and interviews kids about their families before the podcast goes on to show a family expecting a new baby, Al Roker hamming it up with his family photos, and lots of Muppets. For those that may not be podcast savvy, or don’t own an iPod, the Sesame Street people have done...
